Abstract

Objective: To research the effect of acupuncture on the brain function of heroin addicts. Method: The patients were grouped according to four therapies: acupuncture, acupuncture with opium, opium with buprenorphine, and opium with Han's instrument for drug rehabilitation. The pre-therapy and post-therapy brain function statistics of each group were compared. Results: Acupuncture improved brain function. The results suggest that acupuncture treatment can help patients prepare to reintegrate into society.
