Abstract

The 78 research patients were all from the Acupuncture-Moxibustion Specialties Unit of Outpatient Service from the 3rd Infirmary of the Henan College of TCM, from August 2007 to April 2008. According to the patients visiting sequence, we used random grouping methods to divide them into the "Qici Method with Long Needles Group" and the "Perpendicular Insertion Needling Group." The first 39 patients had 22 male and 17 female patients, with the average age of 49.3 years old and average course of disease for 4.6 years. The second 39 patients had 24 male and 15 females, with the average age of 47.8 years old and average course of disease for 3.9 years. Through the statistical treatment, the general information showed no statistical significance (P>0.05) that was comparable.
