Objective: To observe the clinical effects of acupuncture treatment for hypertrophic scar. Methods: Eighty patients with hypertrophic scar were randomly divided into two groups. 40 cases in the treatment group were treated by acupuncture plus ultrasonic therapy, and the control group was treated by topical application of Mebo Scareducer Ointment plus ultrasonic therapy. Results: The total effective rate was 93.9% in the treatment group and 77.8% in the control group, with significant difference (P<0.01). Conclusion: Acupuncture plus ultrasonic therapy is effective in treating hypertrophic scar.
