OBJECTIVE: To evaluate therapeutic effects of the combined use of acupuncture and Chinese medicines in 63 cases of menopausal syndrome. METHODS: Ninety-three cases of menopausal syndrome were randomly divided into 2 groups. Sixty-three cases of the treatment group were treated by the combined use of acupuncture and Chinese medicines. Thirty cases in the control group were only given Western medicines. RESULTS: The total effective rate was 96.83% in the treatment group, and 73.33% in the control group. CONCLUSIONS: The combined use of acupuncture andChinese medicines is more effective for treating menopausal syndrome.
