Abstract
Controlled study of acupuncture treatment of amenorrhea due to medications has shown a better and a more enduring effect than the usual hormonal approach. The absence of side effects usually seen with hormone administration is another merit of this approach. It is thought to act on the root of the pathogenetic mechanisms rather than working as substitutes as the hormonal preparations.
